Well then.
--On the positive side, Cyborg Wife has made immense progress in healing and is almost back to normal! She's still having some issues with bending on the 'operative' side, as they call it, but she can walk without the cane and is basically in no pain from the surgery (lower back is a bit painful but that's from the months of compensating for the shitty hip so now it has to find itself again). It's amazing how fast she's recovered! I really thought there would be more legit 'bed rest' but the hospital PT person said get up and start moving on crutches and doing exercises as soon as possible so she did that and only three weeks later is doing amazingly well. The only real problem at this point is stamina for walking.
--I, on the other hand, have a surplus of emotions that are flopping out all over the fucking place. Probably some of them are left over from all of the health worries but possibly other stuff is happening in my lizard brain that I don't know about? Anyway I had a full breakdown in my boss' office last week about our mandatorypseudoscience Hogwarts house sorting DISC assessment. I knew it was coming, I knew it was mandatory, I was prepared to do the fucking quiz with the understanding that I would bitch and moan about it the entire time and for months after... and then halfway through the bullshit I discovered that after someone finishes they can see the results of everyone in the company who has done it (which, reminder, is everyone, because it's mandatory) and this is supposedly a 'feature' because it will allow us to all communicate with each other better, and I just... lost it. Full on 'I am not a number, I am a human being,' inches from actual weeping about feeling dehumanized and 'this is what's wrong with AI and with how the helpdesk is using their ticket system.'
All of which is true and which I agree with but maybe my subconscious didn't need to make me be a fucking drama queen about it. My poor boss. She was very kind. Especially when I said I thought her boss was an idiot and she said "is now a bad time to mention he's coming to our retreat?" which did make me cackle. Then she bought me a coffee and eventually I finished the stupid quiz still hating it but at least hating it while drinking a very sugary mocha.

allen and I went to see Yacht Rock Review, who we discovered last year and absolutely loved and therefore had to see again. Yes, it is an absurd premise of a show and yes, the range of what they shoehorn in under 'yacht rock' can be quite dubious but who the fuck cares, you're there to drink expensive alcohol and sing Cool Change at the top of your lungs. The performance of Toto's Africa was so electric to the audience that afterwards we both felt like it alone was worth the price of admission.
--I am now on my condo board and I finally got to do something I enjoyed, namely denying the appeal of Some Asshole who couldn't be bothered to get his tenant's crap out of the hallway after six weeks of being warned that it was a fire hazard and he was going to be fined. Pay your $250 or get off your ass. Yes, this is the way I want to go mad with power.

margins. I'll send you rambles about whatever you fancy, or ask you questions so that you can ramble.
